HEAL Service Event

The mission of the HorsePower Equine Assisted Learning (HEAL) Foundation is to empower individuals and groups with a safe, professional, and therapeutic equine experience. HEAL supports the limitless emotional growth and healing potential created by the bond between horse and human.

HEAL was built to provide equine assisted psychotherapy services (EAP) directly to our veterans, first responders and their families.

Who's Coming

What to expect: HEAL uses a team of horses to help military, veterans, first responders, and their families recognize and overcome issues and behavioral patterns that are interering with their daily lives. Horses are intuitive and social animals. They mirror human body language. If you are impatient, the horse becomes impatient. It is this connection that provides us with metaphors and lessons about ourselves and leads us to change. This unmounted treament utilizes a licensed mental health professional and an equine specialist. Join the NU Club of Washington, DC to experience this training firsthand!

Testimonials from past attendees:

“I have experienced a glimpse into the work HEAL is doing using horses to address the devastating impacts of PTSD with our military and their families and I am amazed by the healing power they achieve."
- Mike, attendee and sponsor

"It felt so good connecting with these astounding horses today. I also learned more about myself in a completely different light. The calm sensation standing next to one is hard to describe. I can't thank you enough for the time the HEAL team spent with us. I truly and honestly believe this can help our scarred vets and first responders in ways that modern science can't even compare. In short I love what you are doing and will do whatever I can to help promote your services."
- Bill, U.S. Army
