Your Norwich Family Is Looking Out For You
Even though many activities have been canceled or postponed, and physical distancing is the new normal, the Norwich family is far from dormant. Many are working on the frontlines in health care, law enforcement and disaster relief. Some are sewing face masks for local hospitals or volunteering to stock food pantries. Some are doing this important work far from the confines of Norwich and the Hill.
The leadership and selfless service of Norwich students, alumni, faculty and staff in these challenging times proves that the essence of our university isn’t the physical space. It’s the people.
Our alumni, students and parents remain at the core of all we do. Over the next several weeks on this page we will share information and a range of digital resources that we hope will inspire you and deepen your connection to Norwich and each other. COVID-19: Share Your Experiences
Tell Us Your Story
Heather Altman ’92 organized Goggles for Docs to donate ski goggles to frontline health care workers. Scott Lancaster ’99 is a paramedic for the Gorham, NH fire department. Rae Carlson ’82 delivers lunches to school children that might not have a meal at home. And COL Mike Shoen USA ’92 is coordinating DSCA support to FEMA.
These are among the dozens of ways the Norwich family are stepping up to help for their community and our nation. How are you helping others during the COVID-19 pandemic? How have you been affected?
The Norwich University Archives and Sullivan Museum and History Center are documenting the experiences of the Norwich family during the COVID-19 pandemic. We urge you to share stories, photos or videos that will become part of the historical record on the impact of the coronavirus in our lives. With your permission, we may share your experiences and reflections with the Norwich community in the weeks ahead.
