Hello, 1965 Classmates!
We hope everyone has been enjoying 2021 more than 2020. As we write this, we anticipate the majority of you have received your vaccines and are itching to re-enter the world. We are reaching out to provide an update from the Hill.
Homecoming 2021 is quickly approaching, September 23-26. As we gear up for this event and our 55th reunion (version 2.0), we are excited to build on the momentum from last year. It was awesome to see our class come together to reminisce over old photos, engage on the Class of 1965 website that Paul Mercer created (norwich1965.com/), and donate a substantial amount of money.
Our social plans remain the same as last year. We will host a welcome party at Hogan’s Pub in Warren on Friday, September 24. On Saturday, September 25 we will gather at Lareau Farm in Waitsfield for our reunion dinner. Therefore, we encourage you to book your lodging in the Waitsfield/Warren area. There are a few other events of note. Our classmate George Handley will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame on the evening of Thursday, September 23. Additionally, Norwich’s football team will play Endicott College on Saturday afternoon.
If you haven’t already done so, mark your calendars and get excited! We would like to get an idea of how many will attend our reunion. P.S. At this time, Norwich plans to welcome us for an in-person reunion during Homecoming. However, should COVID-19 impact the university’s ability to host an in-person gathering, celebrations will be virtual. The decision to host an in-person event will be made no sooner than July 2021.
