Brendan RecchiaBrendan M. Recchia '08  Brendan graduated Norwich University in 2008 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. While at Norwich Brendan studied communications and was a two-sport athlete in both football and baseball. Upon entry into the US Army Brendan became an infantry officer attending infantry school, Airborne School and Ranger school. After spending time with the 3rd Infantry Division and the 1st Calvary Division in both Iraq and Afghanistan Brendan decided to leave the Army. In December 2013 he began his business career with Winsupply. Since then Brendan has been an owner and operator in multiple distribution companies. Brendan married his wife Kathryn in October 2017 and they had a daughter Cameron Ann in November 2019.

Upon completing his tour on Barracks Duty Sergeant Bonar reported to the Naval Drug and Alcohol Counseling School, Naval Station, San Diego, California, on 12 January 1989. On 12 April 1989 Sergeant Bonar was assigned to the Naval Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center, NAS Miramar, California. Sergeant Bonar conducted inpatient counseling and was assigned as an Instructor at the Naval Drug and Alcohol Counseling School in April 1992. Please click here for his full bio. 



Rev. William S. Wick 
has served as NU Chaplain since August ‘89. Born an identical twin in West Chester, PA he attended Calvary University (Kansas City, MO) before transferring to Trinity International University (Deerfield, IL) where he earned his BA in Biblical Studies from Trinity College (‘75) and his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (‘78). He also studied at Jerusalem University College/the American Institute of Holy Land Studies on Mt. Zion, Jerusalem, ISRAEL in 1981 and 1984. Ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America “Rev” served as a “church-planter” from '78-'96 assisting in the establishment of three Vermont churches (Bradford, Newport, and Northfield). Bill often provides “pulpit supply” for churches throughout New England and has ministered as an “interim pastor” eight times in Central Vermont churches of various denominations. He served on the New England District Board of Directors and subsequently on the National Board of Directors for the EFCA, eventually holding the position of Vice-Secretary. Chaplain Wick also served a nine-year term of office on the Board of Governors for Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. He also was a member of three other EFCA National Boards (its Ministerial Association and Board of Ministerial Standing and its Chaplains’ Commission). He was the VT Civil Air Patrol Wing Chaplain for a number of years.

Karen Boyce - 
Managing Director of the Veterans' Place Inc.

Educated at Montpelier High School and VTC. Karen was a Woodworker and Finish Technician for 20 years. 13 of those years working at Wall Goldfinger here in Northfield, finishing high-end conference room furniture. She joined the Veterans' Place staff when it first opened its doors in 2009, serving as Administrative Manager and Dinner Cook. In 2020 she was promoted to Managing Director. As the Mother of two sons, both who served in the War on Terrorism, she is passionate about serving the Veteran community.

Rich Turner -
 Housing manager of the Veterans' Place Inc.

Prior to joining the Veterans' Place staff in June 2020, Rich enjoyed long productive careers with the Army and Air Force, in civil aviation, and as a forester and arborist. Educated at Norwich University, he holds a BA in Government/Political Science and Associate of Science in Criminal Justice. His most recent job was a Team Leader and Recovery Support Specialist at a Level III Recovery Residence.

Jenna Mehnert  - Chief Executive Officer for NAMI Maine the State chapter of a national movement focused on support, education and advocacy related to mental health. She has over thirty years of experience in social services providing direct services, public policy development, agency administration and advocacy. A results-based professional focused on building systems and services that produce measurable outcomes.
